Dr Daniel R Henderson

Dr Daniel Henderson was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at University Hospitals Birmingham in 2017. He is a specialist in chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and targeted treatments for breast cancer. He is principal investigator for a number of clinical trials and is part of the Wellcome Trust Scientific Advisory Committee.

Dr Henderson grew up in the Midlands and, following medical school, did his early medical training at University College Hospital, London. He undertook his oncology training at the prestigious Royal Marsden Hospital, where he did extensive training in chemotherapy and targeted treatments. He was subsequently awarded a two-year fellowship in advanced radiotherapy and imaging techniques at the same institution. During this time, he worked on developing new and high-precision radiotherapy techniques and published in international journals.

Dr Henderson understands the importance of an individualised approach to cancer treatment, and believe that this should be both positive and proactive.
