As someone who has chosen to have private care, we provide you with a multidisciplinary team of experts who will achieve a rapid diagnosis and develop an individual treatment plan from the full range of leading-edge treatments, from oncoplastic surgery to advanced radiotherapy.
At Midland Breast Clinic, all our patients with breast cancer are discussed in a “Multidisciplinary team” meeting. This mirrors our own practice in the NHS and is formed by a number of specialists with individual expertise, coming together to act as a patient advocate. The team includes:
- Breast Care Nurse
- Oncologist – with access to radiotherapy and the latest cancer drugs and therapy
- Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon – breast cancer surgeon with training in plastic surgery techniques
- Radiologist – an expert in breast imaging (e.g. mammogram, ultrasound) used in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer
- Pathologist – an expert in examining tissue taken at biopsy or surgery
